Always present for complex studies, SOERMATP challenge of installing a excavator on a boat!
The challenge is daunting:
- Edit 85-tonne excavator to install it on a barge.
- To work this excavator on rails so it can unload the sand from the boat.

| Details of changes: |  The main change was to make a new chassis so that the machine can move on rails spaced 8 m above the ship's hold, and over a length of 42m.
The second major change was to make a pendulum-like handling may receive a grab of 7 m3 able to go get sand in the bilge to 9 m . Sand is then dumped into a hopper attached to the chassis of the new machine.
To complete the delivery had to equip the machine gateways around the turret. Integrate security systems for cutting machine movements, and finally protect the latter from corrosion by a special paint and insulation for electrical and hydraulic connections. |
|  Implementation and testing of the boat: On May 21, 2010 the various elements and the machine is loaded onto several trucks towards Concarneau where the boat has been launched.
The implementation on the boat was carried out by two cranes 250T and 350T .
2 weeks later, the first dynamic tests are carried out with success!
July 2010 . The company Setra Caddac, owner of boat conduct the first pumping of sander at sea Sands which is then used to cement.
